Born this way pt. 2

I think I was a bit callous on this subject 2 days ago. What I was getting at was the fact that in music more than any other art form people rip off melodies, lyrics and beats all the time and it's rarely punished as copyright infringement. There are only a few cases of this and even then I find the music making public sympathetic to the defendants. I think musicians have an inherent understanding that just because we came up with the melody does not mean that we own it forever more. That it must transform and evolve to reach its potential.
